Finding Etang Des Royales - "The Royal Lake" - is very simple, arriving at Calais take the A26 to Reims. Continue along the A4/E17/E50 and look out for the signs to Chalons en Champagne in blue not green for the time being. Take the N44, at Chalons en Champagne, to Vitry le Francois. On reaching the second roundabout take the last exit signposted St Dizier/Nancy N4. Continue on looking out for a church on the right hand side (at Thieblemont Faremont). Approximately 4 miles after the church keep your eyes open for a fence made out of upright railway sleepers and wire netting on the right hand side. SLOW DOWN! You will see some white reflective posts followed by two red reflective ones. Turn right between the two red posts onto a small made up road, then take your first right onto a gravel track. You will then see the entrance to Etang Des Royales (double green metal gates) approx 200yds along on the right. If you pass the motel Meteor you have gone 100yds too far. Welcome to Etang des Royales

When you enter the green gates you will see on the left hand side a big car park, and in front the road that goes to the main house.

NB: No admittance before 0900hrs on day of arrival. The gates are locked 2100hrs-0900hrs. The weekly draw is at midday each Saturday, previous weeks anglers must vacate their swim by 1100hrs on Saturday.
